Un portrait de Moroni pour la Frick Collection

27/1/23 - Acquisition - New York, The Frick Collection - Toile phare de l’exposition que la Frick Collection consacrait aux portraits de Giovanni Battista Moroni en 2019 [1] - la première grande exposition monographique dédiée à l’artiste outre-Atlantique, plus de vingt ans après celle plus confidentielle du Kimbell Art Museum à Fort Worth [2] -, le splendide Portrait de jeune femme alors conservé en collection particulière rejoint les collections de l’institution new-yorkaise grâce au don du collectionneur Assadour O. Tavitian, l’un de ses administrateurs et fidèle mécène, décédé en 2020 (ill. 1).
