Three new museum directors

15/7/24 - Nominations - Poitiers, Colmar, Cholet - We are continuing our series of news items of recent appointments to head up French museums (see previous news items). Graduating from the Institut National du Patrimoine in June 2023, 28-year-old curator Manon Lecaplain (ill. 1) took over as head of the Poitiers museums on 1 July. This prestigious post had been vacant since Pascal Faracci left for the Musée Cognacq-Jay in Paris a year earlier (see news item of 30/6/22). Pending his appointment, the curators Coralie Garcia Bay, who is still based in Poitiers and in charge of the antique and medieval collections, and Raphaëlle Martin-Pigalle, who will be leaving in September 2023 for the Petit Palais, where she will be responsible for 19th and 20th century decorative arts, acted as…
