Le Sterling & Francine Clark Institute ne s’y s’est pas trompé en y achetant un buste en plâtre d’Alexandre Dumas fils par Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux.
Les deux hommes, le sculpteur et l’écrivain, étaient amis. Ils s’étaient rencontré à la Villa Médicis lorsque Dumas vint la visiter en 1861, et ce dernier fut le témoin de Carpeaux à son mariage avec…
