19/4/13 - Acquisition - New York, Metropolitan Museum - C’est le Metropolitan Museum qui a emporté les enchères pour le tableau de Le Brun mis en vente chez Christie’s Paris le 15 avril dernier et adjugé 1,44 millions d’euros (frais inclus). Intitulée Le Sacrifice de Polyxène, l’œuvre se trouvait au Ritz, sis dans l’Hôtel Gramont, et a été redécouverte à l’occasion de l’inventaire entrepris avant une grande campagne de travaux ; on ne sait malheureusement pas quand elle y entra. On ne connaît pas non plus son commanditaire, ni sa destination, seulement sa date : 1647.
