Deux Sorolla pour le Prado
19/1/23 - Acquisitions - Madrid, Musée du Prado - C’est le portrait d’un grand historien de l’art réalisé par un grand peintre, qui rejoint le musée du Prado : Manuel Bartolomé Cossío (1857-1935) fut représenté à deux reprises par Joaquín Sorolla en 1908 (ill. 1), et l’un de ces tableaux a été acheté auprès des héritiers du modèle, tandis que le second se trouve à la Hispanic Society of America de New York.
