18/6/13 - Acquisition - Bristol, Museum and Art Gallery - Turner avait seize ans lorsqu’il séjourna à Bristol chez des amis de son père, la famille Narraway. Il parcourut les bords de l’Avon et les collines alentours, en rapportant de nombreuses études et aquarelles. La Tate Britain conserve son carnet d’esquisses, dont il semble s’être inspiré dans des compositions plus tardives, le Courtauld Institute possède de son côté une de ses aquarelles représentant la rivière, tandis qu’une autre a été acquise par le Bristol Museum and Art…
