A Notre Dame missal for sale at Christie’s
3/7/23 - Art market - Paris - Four years after the fire at Notre-Dame de Paris, the Musée de l’Œuvre is kind of the Holy Grail And yet this project would be the only real added value for the heritage of the redevelopment of the area around Notre-Dame, the construction of which is causing concern among heritage conservationists (see articles and the open letter from associations).
It would make it possible to exhibit the fragments of the rood screen unearthed by the archaeological digs, as well as the Mays from the cathedral, not forgetting the works from the former Musée de Notre-Dame, some of which are housed in the Médiathèque de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine. And here’s another object that deserves to join the collections of this non-existent yet necessary museum: a missal.
