13/2/24 - Acquisition - Groningue, Groninger Museum - It’s the second shot that catches the eye: behind the allegory of Time, embodied by a magnificent old man with his scythe and hourglass, appears one of the oldest representations of the city of Groningen (ill. 1). In the center, at number 23 Oude Boteringestraat, the medieval house known as the "thirteen pinnacles" (or "thirteen temples") is painted as it was before 1706. Built in the 15th century, it was extensively rebuilt in the early 18th century, and further modified in 1756. Restored in 1964, it is now a protected monument.
