9/5/09 – Acquisitions – Paris, Musée Delacroix – Le Musée Delacroix, désormais une annexe du Louvre, a fait l’acquisition auprès de la Galerie Wildenstein à New York d’une paire de tableaux représentant respectivement le peintre anglais Thales Fielding et Eugène Delacroix, chacun ayant représenté l’autre (ill. 1 et 2).
Le portraitiste Théodore Notlan Fielding eut cinq fils qui tous furent artistes : Théodore Henry, Frederick Raffael, Copley, Thales et Newton. Copley exposa trois huiles sur toile et six aquarelles au Salon parisien de 1824, où il reçut une médaille d’or, et Newton…
