Langres acquires a painting by Volaire

8/10/23 - Acquisition - Langres, Maison des Lumières Denis Diderot - As it celebrates its tenth anniversary, the Maison des Lumières Denis Diderot is stepping up its acquisitions, as demonstrated by our series of articles recently published on the subject. Acquired from the Talabardon et Gautier gallery with the help of the French government (Fonds du Patrimoine), the Région Grand Est (FRAM) and the Département de la Haute-Marne, a view of Vesuvius in eruption by Pierre Jacques Volaire, known as the Chevalier Volaire, has now joined the Langres collections [1].
