12/3/24 - Acquisition - Rotterdam, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen - "As regards work, I have been busy painting still lifes of late, as I have already written, and I am enjoying it immensely. I will send you some of them. I know they’re hard to sell - but it’s devilishly useful and I’m going to keep working on them this winter. You’ll receive a large still life of potatoes, in which I’ve tried to give body, in other words to express the material. So that they become heavy, solid pieces, which you would feel if they were thrown at you, for example [1]".
