2/7/13 - Acquisition - Huntington, The Heckscher Museum of Art -
Célèbre pour ses paysages grandioses de l’Ouest américain et plus particulièrement de Yellowstone, Thomas Moran peignit aussi des vues moins majestueuses, moins escarpées, et plus à l’Est, comme celle dont le Heckscher Museum vient d’annoncer l’acquisition. Intitulée Stormy Skies, Long Island (Cieux orageux, Long Island), l’œuvre est passée en vente chez Doyle New York le 23 novembre 2012 et a été adjugée 110 500 dollars au Heckscher Museum of Art, à Huntington, ville située au Nord de Long Island.

Cette toile fut peinte peu après l’installation…
