Un portrait de femme par Adèle Romany rejoint son pendant à Boston

1/2/15 – Acquisition – Boston, Museum of Fine Arts – En 2009, le Boston Museum of Fine Arts s’enrichissait d’un Portrait de Joseph-Dominique Fabry-Garat s’accompagnant à la lyre peint par Adèle Romany en 1808 (voir la brève du 22/4/09). Le 4 juin dernier, auprès de Christie’s New York, il a acquis pour 37 500 $ son pendant, représentant une jeune femme devant un piano forte (de Sébastien Érard comme on peut le lire sur l’instrument).

Fabry-Garat était un ténor d’origine bordelaise, né en 1774 ou 1775, également compositeur, qui écrivit notamment huit recueils de «romances et pièces fugitives» devant être…
