Un dessin de Bernard Picart acquis par Port-Royal

23/3/18 - Acquisition - Magny-les-Hameaux, Musée national de Port-Royal - C’est une petite feuille, mais un très joli dessin. Le Musée national de Port-Royal a acheté galerie de Bayser, au Salon du Dessin, une œuvre de Bernart Picart représentant la Foi terrassant l’Ignorance.

Datée de 1702, elle est préparatoire à une gravure (il est passé au stylet), dont l’iconographie est aisée à identifier. La Foi, en vêtement blanc, tient de la main droite une croix portant la couronne d’épines, et de la main gauche un calice. Un putto tient dans ses mains le…
