As with all appointments of a new Minister of Culture (we’ve had twelve since La Tribune de l’Art was created, in April 2003, less than twenty-one years ago), we will welcome the appointment of Rachida Dati, a right-wing opposition politician, who is aiming for the mayoralty of Paris, which has just been announced.

As a defender of this city, and a fierce opponent of the policies of Anne Hidalgo and her municipality, we have to admit that we are delighted by this news. On the one hand, it is probably a prelude to an agreement between the presidential majority and the right-wing opposition: we know that the retention of the Macronist candidate Agnès Buzyn…
