Trumpism and wokism, two sides of the same coin

Extremes always give rise to other extremes.
As we wrote in our book “Mauvais genre au musée [1]”, it is in part the excesses of wokism, particularly strong in the United States, that have allowed the emergence of Trumpism and its European avatars. Trump and wokism are two sides of the same coin. And opposing wokism does not, of course, mean approving of Trump. Quite the opposite: he, and his excesses, appall us at least as much as what we denounced in that book.
