New flooding : the Louvre keeps sinking further

At the Louvre, no one knows where to turn. Hardly had we learned of the arrest of several gallery attendants suspected of having embezzled at least 10 million euros from ticket sales, when today we must report a potentially serious flooding in room 707, in Denon, one of the rooms linking the Daru staircase to the Salon Carré, where, among other works, detached frescoes by Fra Angelico and Bernardino Luini are displayed (ill. 1 et 2). The leak is coming from the ceiling and appears to be due to a new burst pipe, as was already the case in the library of the Department of Egyptian Antiquities a few weeks ago (see the article).
