Two new 18th-century tapestries preempted by the Mobilier national

12/10/23 - Acquisitions - Paris, Mobilier national -We announced a little less than a month ago that the Galerie Chevalier was exhibiting a series of sumptuous tapestries dating from the 17th to 18th centuries, which it was preparing to sell under the gavel of Alexandre Giquello and Violette Stcherbatcheff at Drouot (see news item of 19/9/23). The sale, which took place on Tuesday 10 October, met with the expected success and was punctuated by several preemptions by the Musée du Louvre (news item coming soon) and the Mobilier national.
