La Scottish National Gallery vient de combler un vide dans ses collections en acquérant, en octobre dernier, une œuvre de l’Ecossais Waller Hugh Paton (1828-1895), paysagiste célèbre en son pays, dont elle ne conservait qu’une aquarelle de 1861 intitulée Springtime, Strathearn.
Entrance to the Cuiraing, Skye est une huile sur toile achetée à la Bourne Fine Art Gallery, à Edimbourg, grâce au soutien des mécènes du musée ; elle avait auparavant été proposée aux enchères par Aguttes à Drouot le 22…
