21/1/26 - Restoration - The stained glass is a painting, “the only one that also colours other things, blending its own image with them,” wrote Alain in his Vingt leçons sur les beaux-arts in 1931. Fragile but useful, stained glass serves a decorative, educational, and architectural function, ensuring the watertightness of a building. Its restoration requires a relatively broad range of skills, which it is time to pass on to future generations, as suggested by the Laboratory for Research on Historic Monuments (LRMH) — succession must be prepared.
