28/11/24 - Acquisition - Sens, Trésor de la cathédrale - The appearance on the market of the Coustou family collection was undoubtedly one of the most significant rediscoveries of the season in terms of Old Masters art, with the pieces being the subject of a very long exhibition in the Paris salons of the Cabinet Turquin, which unveiled them at the start of the summer and then again in September, with the subtle media coverage of the ensemble being provided - effectively - by the Artcento agency, which played on velvet with such unpublished works. Despite the undeniable heritage value of the works on offer at Azur Enchères in Cannes on 22 October, the best works in the sale were rewarded with high bids [1].
