8/9/15 - Acquisition - Montbard, Musée Buffon - Grande figure du siècle des Lumières, Georges-Louis Leclerc, comte de Buffon (1707-1788), est l’auteur de l’Histoire Naturelle, générale et particulière. Composée de trente-six volumes publiés entre 1749 et 1789, elle fut écrite en collaboration avec Jean-Marie Daubenton (1716-1800) et le comte de Lacépède (1756-1825) qui la complétèrent par la suite.
Sa ville natale, Montbard, en Bourgogne, conserve le souvenir de ce naturaliste, mathématicien et philosophe. Son hôtel particulier est intact et inscrit monument historique. Le comte annexa par ailleurs le parc qu’il aménagea entre 1733…
