Two seventeenth-century Dutch still lifes acquired by the Gettyy

Paul Getty Museum - Two seventeenth-century Dutch still lifes (ill. 1 and 2) by two masters of the genre, Pieter Claesz and Jan Davidsz. de Heem, have joined the Getty Museum, which once again demonstrates its ambitious acquisition policy. If a fine ensemble of Dutch still lifes was already held, by Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder, Willem Kalf, Willem van Aelst or Jan van Huysum, these two new masterpieces bring to the American collection two artists of whom it previously owned nothing. The Glass Vase with Flowers and Fruit by Jan Davidsz. de Heem has already taken its place in the permanent display, in the west pavilion.
