A drawing by David Vinckboons acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art
12/12/25 - Acquisition - New York, The Metropolitan Museum of Art - It was one of the very fine sheets admired at the most recent Salon du Dessin, the tondo by David Vinckboons, presented by Onno van Seggelen Fine Art, has been acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art (ill. 1 and 2). It joins the handsome group of the artist’s graphic works already preserved there, consisting of a few drawings and hundreds of prints. As stated in the gallery’s catalogue entry, recently discovered in a private collection, this drawing had always remained in private hands, passing down through the family.
