All the versions of this article: English, français

31/12/25 Acquisition - Paris, Musée d’Orsay - Three women wrapped up walk through the snow-covered streets of Amsterdam. The subject is seasonal, as is the painting by Georges Hendrik Breitner, painted c. 1892–1894. It has joined the collections of the Musée d’Orsay, donated by the Friends of the Museum in tribute to Sylvain Amic, who died last summer. The work was shown by the gallery Kunstgalerij Albricht at the most recent edition of TEFAF Maastricht. The museum, already holding two paintings by the artist, Moonlight (1887–1889), and Two Horses Pulling a Pile (1897–1898), thus continues its ambition to exhibit the European masters of modernity.
