The voices of Joan of Arc echo in the Oise
8/7/25 - Acquisition - Beauvais, Musée départemental de l’Oise - The iconography of the painting is far from self-evident, and its title contributes to its mystery: Go!… This work by Hippolyte Fournier was on view at the FAB fair, exhibited on the Young Talents stand by the Artwins Gallery, which had previously featured it in a 2019 exhibition (see the news item of 9/23/19). It has now joined the collection of the Musée départemental de l’Oise, which very recently opened the second floor of its building, notably featuring a fine group of Symbolist paintings (see the article).
