Donation of a painting by Vincenzo Dandini to the Louvre
6/9/24 - Acquisition - Paris, Musée du Louvre - The Louvre’s collection of 17th-century Italian paintings has been enlarged by the addition of a painting by Vincenzo Dandini, several of whose drawings feature in the Tuscan collection of the Graphic Arts Department. A gift from collector Daniel Thierry, this Sacrifice to Vesta has been placed alongside other Florentine Baroque paintings by Giovanni Biliverti, Carlo Dolci and Simone Pignoni. Before moving to the Louvre, the painting was presented by the Terrades gallery at the 2015 Paris Tableau exhibition and, more recently, by Artcurial in June 2021.
