22/9/15 - Acquisition - Édimbourg, National Gallery of Scotland - Rarement montré au public, un paysage biblique de Pierre Patel conservé dans une collection privée a fait l’objet d’une dation (acceptance in lieu) et a été déposé à la National Gallery of Scotland.
L’artiste illustre la rencontre de Juda et de Tamar, sujet puisé dans la Genèse (38.1-30). Juda avait trois fils. Tamar épousa le premier, Er, «méchant aux yeux de l’Eternel» qui le fit donc mourir.
