5/6/25 - Art Market - Paris - Sometimes exhibitions have fortunate consequences. Last year’s exhibition by the Musée des Beaux-Arts d’Orléans on Guido Reni and his studio, which highlighted the David and Goliath from its collections recently donated in full to the artist (see article), prompted the owner of a large painting very close to it (ill. 1), which he thought was an old copy of this composition, to contact the Turquin firm. The firm quickly realised that it was in fact another autograph version that had disappeared, and which is quoted in the catalogue.
