The non-renewal of Sébastien Allard confirms the metamorphosis of the Louvre

All the versions of this article: English , français

The appointment of Christophe Leribault is clearly changing the game at the Louvre. A union representative we spoke to confirmed what we had already suspected: the new president of the Louvre is the exact opposite of his predecessor, and social dialogue has largely resumed on excellent grounds. Present himself in the committees, he is not a fan of a façade dialogue but addresses everyone, with a genuine desire to move things forward positively. In the field of acquisitions, we hope to discuss soon several very important purchases, but we can already mention here (news item to come) the remarkable preemption, thanks to the Société des amis du Louvre, of the two beautiful pendants, with rare subjects for Hubert Robert (ill. 1), from the Veil-Picard collection at Christie’s.
