7/5/25 - Acquisition - Carzago Riviera, MarteS Museo d’Arte Sorlini - There is something enigmatic about this old woman, smiling and staring at the viewer; and the delighted boy accompanying her gives no further clues to her identity or to the scene being played out (ill. 1). Nevertheless, her attributes - the rosary and the walking stick - as well as the gesture she is making, with her finger pointing at an uncertain point, can be found in a painting by the same artist showing an old pilgrim, now in the Dallas Museum of Art.
