A painting by Auguste Glaize acquired by Montpellier

18/9/25 - Acquisition - Montpellier, Musée Fabre - A native of Montpellier, Auguste-Barthélemy Glaize is among those still awaiting a retrospective — one that one may hope will one day be organised by the Musée Fabre. In the meantime, the museum continues to expand the holdings dedicated to the artist, many of which come from the Bruyas collection. It has indeed recently acquired, through Saint Honoré Art Consulting (Étienne Bréton), a painting depicting the beheading of Saint John the Baptist (ill. 1), in an attractive frame, probably original [1].
