16/6/15 - Acquisition - Stanford, The Cantor Arts Center - Ce Coin de rue fut peint en 1913 lorsqu’Edward Hopper ne vivait pas encore de ses peintures, mais des illustrations qu’il fournissait à des revues new-yorkaises.
Cette toile, pourtant, annonce les images qui feront la célébrité de l’artiste. Elle a été acquise par le musée de l’Université de Stanford (Californie) auprès d’un collectionneur privé, par l’intermédiaire de Jeffrey Fraenkel marchand de San Francisco.
