5/1/17 - Acquisition - Fort Worth, The Amon Carter Museum of Art - Vu de dos, seul face à la mer, le pêcheur tient fermement sa canne, le dos voûté, un pied en avant pour garder l’équilibre. The Amon Carter Museum of Art a pu acheter en décembre dernier ce tableau de l’Américain George Bellows à un collectionneur privé. Il a été peint en 1917 lorsque l’artiste se trouvait sur la côte pacifique à Carmel, dans le nord de la Californie. Le musée texan ne possédait pas, jusque là, de peinture de Bellows, mais conservait plus de 200 lithographies de sa main.
