As part of my Master 2 research program at Sorbonne-Université, I’m writing a dissertation on Jean-Francis Auburtin’s décor Le Fond de la Mer in the Milne-Edwards amphitheater at the Sorbonne (in place between the early 20th century and 1968).

Apart from a single fragment, in need of restoration, preserved at the
the dépôt d’Ivry, the rest of the canvas has now disappeared. Its study
suffers from a lack of archives concerning its installation and
dismantling.

Any souvenir, testimony or photograph of the work in place in the amphitheatre would be invaluable.

I would like to thank in advance any witnesses, former students, collectors,
readers and enthusiasts who would like to share information on this subject
or who possess preparatory studies for this décor.
