Un album de Le Gray pour la BnF

28/12/16 - Acquisition - Paris, Bibliothèque Nationale de France - «Le Gray comme photographe est à la fois un artiste et un savant» affirmait Alexandre Dumas dont le portrait en pied figure parmi les 113 photographies de Gustave Le Gray réunies en album par Léon Maufras, avocat et ami du photographe (ill. 1). Après la mort de Maufras, l’ensemble fut offert à Alfred de Vigny dont les annotations sur les bords sont encore visibles. Il a finalement été mis en vente par Artcurial le 15 novembre dernier (ill. 1 à 4).
