21/10/15 - Acquisition - Washington, National Gallery - L’oeuvre était visible à la TEFAF en mars dernier, sur le stand de la galerie Johnny Van Haeften qui l’avait lui-même acquise dans une vente de Sotheby’s à New York le 30 janvier 2014. C’est la National Gallery de Washington qui l’a finalement achetée auprès du marchand londonien d’origine hollandaise.
Il s’agit d’une scène de genre de Jacob Ochtervelt, natif de Rotterdam, qui se forma auprès de Nicolaes Berchem et s’installa à Amsterdam. Dans le hall d’entrée d’une riche maison se tiennent une…
