18/10/11 – Acquisition et Internet – Dallas, Meadows Museum et Paris, Musée du Louvre – Le Meadows Museum a acquis récemment, auprès de la galerie Caylus à Madrid, un portrait de Vicente López représentant Richard Worsam Meade (ill. 1). Celui-ci était un marchand et armateur américain qui s’installa à Cadix pour diriger sa compagnie et qui y constitua un important ensemble de peintures anciennes. Il fut l’un des premiers collectionneurs de peintures espagnoles aux Etats-Unis et possédait notamment des œuvres de Velázquez et de Murillo.
