22/10/06 - Acquisition - Dundee, McManus Galleries & Museum - Portraitiste de la bonne société écossaise, Henry Raeburn eut une production très abondante. Le musée de Dundee vient d’acheter auprès d’un collectionneur privé, pour la somme de £ 131.580 [1] , une œuvre typique de cet artiste. Le modèle posant devant un paysage, comme dans la plupart des portraits britanniques de cette époque, la palette aux tons limités, ocre, brun ou mauve, la touche libre et légère sont autant de caractéristiques de la manière de Raeburn.
