2/4/13 - Acquisition - Sarasota, The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art - Le musée de Sarasota a acheté, le 30 janvier dernier chez Christie’s New York un grand cuivre peint par Otto van Veen (également connu sous le nom d’Otto Venius) représentant L’Adoration des bergers, pour la somme de 56 250 $ (frais inclus).

Van Veen, originaire de Leyde, après un séjour en Italie de 1575 à 1583 qui marqua profondément son style, eut une importante carrière officielle, travaillant successivement à Bruxelles, Anvers où il dirigea notamment la décoration de la ville pour l’entrée…
