12/9/23 - Acquisition - Detroit, Institute of Art - Decidedly fond of the works of the Romantic sculptor Félicie de Fauveau, the major American museums are pursuing an active policy of enrichment at a brisk pace, from which we sometimes miss certain episodes: in a recent news item devoted to the purchase of the bust portrait of the Duke of Bordeaux by the Currier Museum of Art, we reproduced and commented on that of his mother the Duchess of Berry (ill. 1) while being unaware that it had just joined the rich collections of the Detroit Institute of Arts!
