La National Gallery de Washington acquiert une œuvre d’Aurelio Lomi

8/2/21 - Acquisition - Washington, National Gallery of Art - C’est un camaïeu d’ocres, grouillant de personnages qui forment deux cercles tournoyants, l’un sur la terre, l’autre au ciel, séparés par le bleu de l’éther. Cette grande étude d’Aurelio Lomi, travaillée à la plume, à l’encre et à l’huile sur quatre feuilles assemblées, met en scène la Lapidation de saint Étienne . On avait pu l’admirer sur le stand de la galerie Giacometti Old Master Paintings en 2015 à la TEFAF, elle a finalement rejoint les collections de la National Gallery de Washington en 2020 (ill. 1).
