Deux acquisitions pour Toulouse : Matylda Rosen et Dagnan-Bouveret

30/10/18 - Acquisitions - Toulouse, Musée des Augustins - Signé Matylda et daté 1884, un buste d’homme en marbre, probablement le Christ, a été acheté à la Galerie 54 de Paris par le Musée des Augustins de Toulouse (ill. 1 et 2). Il permet de mettre en exergue une sculptrice méconnue du XIXe siècle.

Née à Varsovie en 1836, Matylda Rosen s’installa à Paris en 1875 avec son troisième mari, le sculpteur Cyprien Godebski. Ils firent construire…
