A Boudin preempted by the MuséoSeine

21/9/23 - Acquisition - Caudebec-en-Caux, MuséoSeine - Located in Caudebec-en-Caux (now the delegated commune of Rives-en-Seine) on the right bank of the Seine, between Le Havre and Rouen, the MuséoSeine was inaugurated in 2016. Subtitled the Museum of the Norman Seine, it is devoted to the river, its landscapes and its development from Antiquity to the present day. Previously largely ethnographic, the museum intends to expand its Fine Arts collection, the most recent addition to which was the purchase of an oil on panel by Georges Binet in 2020 (see news item of 27/6/20). Its recent preemption of a local landscape by Eugène Boudin, Caudebec-en-Caux, Boats on the Seine, admirably testifies to this new ambition.
