With a view to publishing a monographic study of Pierre-Marie Bossan (1814-1888) and Louis-Jean Sainte-Marie Perrin (1835-1917), architects of the Fourvière Basilica, with the Presses universitaires de Lyon in 2026, I am looking for private archives.

Pierre-Marie Bossan was one of the most original figures on the French architectural scene in the nineteenth century, working between neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque styles before forging, in the early 1850s, a new religious art that would blossom in the basilicas of Fourvière (1872-1896) and Lalouvesc (Ardèche, 1865-1900) in a style that was both symbolic and mystical.
