A rare jardinière by Jules Desbois for Draguignan

24/7/26 - Acquisition - Draguignan, Musée des Beaux-Arts - Following its recent and remarkable reopening (see the article), the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Draguignan continues its active acquisitions policy. Alongside the Sebastiano Conca that recently enriched its collection of Italian paintings (see the news item of 11/7/26), a rare gilt-bronze jardinière by Jules Desbois (ill. 1 to 3) has joined its holdings devoted to the turn of the twentieth century. The acquisition is all the more significant because it fills a gap in the collection, which includes numerous paintings but few sculptures and even fewer decorative art objects.
