Two new department directors for the Louvre Museum

4/8/26 - Appointments - Paris, Musée du Louvre - Finally, some white smoke from the Louvre, where several departments had been waiting for their new heads for (too) many months, which is never good for the teams! Pushed toward the exit just before her retirement (see the article) despite the rare mobilization of the department (see the news item of 1/7/26), the highly respected Sophie Jugie is replaced — as of this month of August [1] — by Stéphanie Deschamps-Tan (ill. 1), who had been her deputy since 2025 at the head of the Department of Sculptures.
