Tournier’s Lute Player joins Toulouse

12/12/24 - Acquisition - Toulouse, Musée des Augustins - As we wrote a few weeks ago, the return to Toulouse of Nicolas Tournier’s Lute Player was a dream prospect (see news item of 17/11/24). A few days later, the painting was preempted by the Musée des Augustins at Millon’s Hôtel Drouot. The hammer price was €330,000, above the high estimate, as expected, and it was acquired with the support of the City of Toulouse, the Fonds du Patrimoine and the Association des Amis du Musée.
