3/12/24 - Acquisitions - Williamstown, Sterling & Francine Clark Art Institute - In this third news item of Aso Tavitian’s bequest to the Clark Institute, we focus on early 17th-century Dutch paintings, beginning with three Joachim Wtewael, one of Utrecht’s finest painters, whose collection donated to Williamstown includes three works. Curiously, however, this collection does not include any other Dutch Mannerists: no Bloemaert, no Goltzius or Cornelis van Haarlem.
