31/1/25 - Restoration - Amiens, Musée de Picardie - Just one year [1]. After launching a fundraising campaign to complete the financing of the acquisition of a very fine 17th-century embroidered antependium (see the news item of 8/2/24), the Friends of the Museums of Amiens organised their second annual gala dinner this evening, at which a new project to revive one of the Musée de Picardie’s greatest masterpieces was presented. Unfortunately, it has been hidden away from visitors for one hundred and seven years but piously rolled up in storage. Now, a painting in very poor condition is about to be restored to its rightful place of honour on the walls!
